My first NYC Marathon experience. Running late due to prior engagements, my plan of attack was taking the C line up to 81st street and crossing the park. Being able to track my friends was great up until I hit a dead zone, which happened to be on the race course. Fully aware that I was cutting it very close for the first of my friends to be reaching the area soon, I actually ended up running to the course, the nearest spot being behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art (around 81st street - east side, and the 24.2 mile mark), and was fortunate to catch a glimpse of my friend race by. I was able to spot another friend (see last photo below), but looking for the third was nearly impossible.
Although I had every intention of taking stills, loading my bag with equipment, I found myself mainly trying to locate friends running and cheering the runners on with both my tiny cowbell and vocal cords. So I opted to take video instead - here are some of the video stills...
