Marathon Sunday - Part 2

My first NYC Marathon experience. Running late due to prior engagements, my plan of attack was taking the C line up to 81st street and crossing the park. Being able to track my friends was great up until I hit a dead zone, which happened to be on the race course. Fully aware that I was cutting it very close for the first of my friends to be reaching the area soon, I actually ended up running to the course, the nearest spot being behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art (around 81st street - east side, and the 24.2 mile mark), and was fortunate to catch a glimpse of my friend race by. I was able to spot another friend (see last photo below), but looking for the third was nearly impossible.

Although I had every intention of taking stills, loading my bag with equipment, I found myself mainly trying to locate friends running and cheering the runners on with both my tiny cowbell and vocal cords.  So I opted to take video instead - here are some of the video stills...

It's not Halloween yet, but...

here's just a few of the colorful characters encountered at New York Comic Con

finding the comic book with the story of the movie Thor was based on
was completely random

Arthur Suydam - loved his Marvel Zombies take on Atlas, so I bought the print

also bought this print by artist Chris Hamer - his appreciation of the Harry Potter films

as expected, Saturday was mobbed, but as a tip, it's always good to hydrate, eat and take a breather every once in a while as to not get overwhelmed
as all your senses will be on overload.
being a first timer at a comic convention, I thought this was pretty entertaining and knowing what to expect now, I look forward to attending again next year...
